Overview:
January sees us shepherding in a New Year, and with a New Year arrive new goals. From an astrological point of view, we will encounter a Full Moon on January 12th in Cancer, just after Mercury goes direct on January 8th. What you once held near and dear will no longer play a vital role. This will become clearer around January 27th, when Mercury leaves its retrograde zone, and the New Moon arrives in Aquarius, the sign of community and friendships. You’ll have the urge to focus on more pressing matters. That slight shift in focus will make you want to place a great deal of attention on education. Educating yourself will be of high priority. In addition, you’ll want to surround yourself with people who value elevated consciousness. During these moments in time you’ll have the keen awareness that not only can you not turn a blind eye, you can no longer appease those that refuse to rise to the occasion to do what’s right. At times, it will feel like you’re going it alone, yet you will continue to have faith that others will be right there with you, walking in the same shoes, leaning on the same rocks, and drinking the same clear water.

With a little bit of creativity and innovation on your part, along with positive reassurance from your group of trusted friends, you’ll find the recipe for equilibrium. Although a retrograde Mercury gives the appearance of going back in time, you know that behind that mercurial glance Venus is there providing inspiration. This is your golden ticket. It’s time to stroll down the path of freedom and happiness.

As the Moon sits at 0° Pisces and makes a lovely trine to Jupiter, you can’t help but to visualize all of the positive relationships that are yet to be had. At the same time, you ask yourself what needs to be abandoned, and how much radical change you can take? Moon VoC 1:59 AM until 3:58 AM.
Tuesday, January 3
When the Moon becomes the twin sister to the wounded healer, Chiron, you can expect to have a roller coaster moment. It can be quite cathartic. It’s a little like the song “Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman. You have a feeling that you can be someone… someone great. Moon VoC 7:33 PM until tomorrow morning.
Wednesday, January 4
When the Moon is at 0° Aries, you have the urge to put your emotions aside in order to gain some momentum. The squares to a retrograde Mercury and Saturn will caution you to progress with slow intention, and weigh your options. Moon VoC ends at 10:20 AM.
Thursday, January 5
You can’t concentrate on the T-squares. Those are stress points that make us stop and drop. Hold on to the comfort of the illusion for a little longer. It is by way of the illusion that you will find the key.
Friday, January 6
As the Moon enters Taurus and trines retrograde Mercury and Saturn, all you can do is plant the seeds, which will help to transform an entire garden. Moon VoC 12:42 PM until 2:19 PM.
Saturday, January 7
When you do things with good intentions, the right people will come along and benefit from your labor. Those people will have the velocity, the naiveté, and the passion to take what you’ve begun and learn from it. Moon VoC 8:23 PM until 4:07 PM.
Sunday, January 8
What you say and what you feel are very different things. What you think that you should discard, and what you should keep can sometimes be at odds, especially when the Moon squares Mars, Neptune, and Venus. Yet when those emotions subside, think about what gift(s) you’d like to be left holding.
Monday, January 9
With the Moon solidly placed in Gemini, it makes a stressful aspect to Mars, Neptune, and Venus, indicating that your emotions could pull you in many different directions. Most of these require you to let something go. Maybe it’s just time to let go, so that you can move on, because the Sun and Pluto have something grandiose awaiting you.

When you doubt the opportunities that show up in your life, which is indicated by the Moon opposing Mercury and Saturn in Sagittarius, you put potential blessings in a holding pattern. Allow positive expansion in your life with Jupiter in Libra. It’s harvest time. Moon VoC 3:39 PM until 4:07 PM.

With a Cardinal Grand Cross in the air you might realize that you’re trying to do too much. Do what’s most important first. This will help to alleviate stress. Know which area will provide the most opportunity, and work on that area first.

Following the Full Moon, when the Moon enters Leo it still activates the Cardinal Cross. Emotionally you could be fired up. Be sure to ask yourself what ignites you the most? If it’s a good fire contain it, and if it’s a blazing fire then put it out. New Moon in Cancer at 5:34 AM. Moon VoC 5:35 AM until 6:08 PM.
Friday, January 13
The dust seems to settle today. You can thank the Grand Trine occurring amongst Uranus, the Moon, and Saturn. Knowing things means that you are growing things. This means that you’re growing in the right direction, and it also indicates that the path that you’re on allows you to figure things out.
Saturday, January 14
Mercury wants in on the love fest that’s occurring amongst the Moon, Saturn, and Uranus. Can you blame him? As he retraces his steps from the beginning of December, he’s able to uncover a few details that were hidden. This will make all of the difference in the world towards the end of the month. With the Moon in Virgo it’s all about the details. Which details are you looking at? Ask yourself if they are the right details, because you could be in analysis paralysis.
Monday, January 16
If you can only see the trees, then you’re probably not seeing the forest. Figuring out which portions of an equation need to stay, and which ones need to go can be a daunting task. Try not to get frustrated. Allow the conjunction between Chiron and Mars to push you past your fears.
Tuesday, January 17
Emotional balance is what is called for today. Sometimes you have to stand right on top of your greatest pain point in order to stomp it out. Fear is not your foundation according to Pluto, Chiron, Venus, and Mars. VoC 12:10 PM until 5:17 AM.
Wednesday, January 18
When the Sun shines a spotlight on the weeds in a garden, it brings with it opportunities to create new opportunities to seed a better garden. By removing that which stifles your growth, you’ll intuitively provide fruitful growing places.
Thursday, January 19
Today the Moon ends up in Scorpio. It can leave you with a case of the Moody Blues. You’re only human, and sometimes the human in you needs a break. Therefore, take a break from the angst. Whatever has transpired to send you into this place has already occurred. What hasn’t yet occurred is tomorrow. So, try again tomorrow. VoC 3:24 PM until 4:10 PM.
Friday, January 20
You have a new plan of action, or perhaps you just gave yourself the mental break that you needed. In any case, you feel somewhat rejuvenated, and ready to tackle the issues of today. It’s going to take some effort on your part. Rebuilding doesn’t happen all by itself. You’re going to have to play a role, and lucky for us, you’re willing to do everything that you can.

What you dream of during your time of need usually has a way of making its way to your front door. Mars, Chiron, Venus, and Neptune have been doing a great deal of unconscious clearing to make sure your most hopeful of wishes have the opportunity to be visualized. VoC 7:25 PM until tomorrow.

It’s all about the community today with the Sun in Aquarius. Even more so with the sextile between the Moon and the Sun, the focus is placed on teaching the community about what it will take in order to become prosperous. The trine between Saturn and Uranus gives us the sneaky suspicion that chaos will lead to order. Let’s just hope it’s not too much chaos. VoC until 4:46 AM.

Today the Sun sits all alone pondering what to do next. Which paths to follow, and where to lead us to greater prosperity seem up in the air. If we look towards the North Node and ask ourselves to evaluate the things that have worked and those things that haven’t, we might be able to gain a more insightful perspective.
Tuesday, January 24
Venus and Chiron are sitting in the same chair today, and square the Moon and Saturn. This is a moment when we break away from long held values. When you become emotionally stubborn, it means that you turn a blind eye to the hurts of others. Now’s not the time to turn your back and ignore what’s occurring. VoC 11:34 AM until 4:44 PM.

Let’s talk about chaos. Is there a place for it? Emotional turbulence is never a good place to be in. Emotionally charged individuals always do their best to keep you in a place of paralysis, and in most cases, that’s of no benefit to you. Do what you can to stop the turbulence before it overtakes you.

Today could quite possibly define the status quo. What remains uncertain is which status quo; the old one or the new one, it seems as though no one can really answer that question. Are we really changing, or are we building more of the same thing within ourselves? Uranus in Aries really wants to know this.
Friday, January 27
As the Moon enters Aquarius it bumps up against the Sun indicating that you could be forming new alliances. Some of those new friendships will be radically different from those you’ve previously forged. You’re not rebelling, you’re exploring. New Moon in Aquarius at 6:08 PM. VoC 1:18 AM until 2:37 AM.
Saturday, January 28
Mercury and Pluto are on the same page today. Did anyone call for a dose of radical change? If so the call has been heard, and it’s time to lead the way forward. VoC 11:53 PM until tomorrow.
Sunday, January 29
Some things come naturally, and some things take effort. The positive aspects between Saturn, the Moon, and Jupiter indicate that your dedication to educating others is about to pay off. The job isn’t completed; it’s just begun. VoC ends at 10:11 AM.
Monday, January 30
With Mars beginning its path through its home sign of Aries, you can feel like you’re dragging the reluctant on a journey. It may seem like you’re walking through quicksand, yet it’s quicksand that you’ve been in before. This means that you know how not to get trapped. Carry on.
Tuesday, January 31
The Moon and Mars meet in Aries today, and square up against Saturn, proving that although you’ve provided the information, many have not digested it. That’s ok, because at some point in the not so distant future, they will. As long as you know what’s at stake, you’ll be able to meet up with chaos and turn it into innovation. The Moon Void of Course (VoC) is the time period from when the Moon makes its last aspect in one sign before moving into the next sign. The Moon is the fastest-moving planet, and transitions from one sign into the next every 1-3 days. What that means is that the Moon is constantly in motion, it’s never retrograde, so it’s inevitable that she will connect with “something,” i.e. another planet or transit, until the moment that she doesn’t. During the moments when she doesn’t connect, we call it the Moon Void of Course. When these events occur, the best thing to do is to meditate, sit still, and listen to your higher guidance. Sitting still does not mean to physically sit still, although it can be beneficial.
