Our May issue is a very special issue for me because it is my second year of being the publisher, and sixth year of running, Conscious Community Magazine. Let me tell you, it has been quite a journey!
This all started when Walter Perschke, the previous publisher, wanted to expand his spiritually-based, entrepreneurial horizons. It was 2012, and The Monthly Aspectarian magazine was for sale. I vividly remember the day he purchased it like it was yesterday. He was so thrilled to be overseeing the oldest spiritual and metaphysical magazine in the United States. At that time, my life was pretty comfortable. I was working at the Spiritual Learning Center and studying business management in college. All of that changed the day I asked him who would manage the magazine. Much to my shock, his response was “YOU!” I said “yes,” and I became the Circulation Manager of Conscious Community Magazine. As many of you know, Walter Perschke passed away two years ago, in May of 2016, and he left me the magazine in his will and this community. He knew that I would take this magazine to the next level of consciousness.
After a couple of years of running Conscious Community Magazine, I have learned many meaningful lessons, some of which I would like to share with you. You can apply them to not only running your own business but also everyday life.
- Trust your intuition and follow it.
- Be open-minded.
- Take care of yourself.
- Celebrate your uniqueness and be yourself!
- Take steps each day towards your dreams.
- Open yourself to new experiences and new people.
- Eat a clean diet full of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes.
- Ground yourself daily with seated meditation or active meditation.
- There are no mistakes, just lessons that take you to the next level of consciousness!
- Be patient with yourself.
