Kriya yoga, a meditation technique that focuses on the spine and breathwork, can help lead to deep meditations and spiritual awakenings. Keith Lowenstein shares the basic techniques of the practice which include visualizations, pranayama, posture adjustments, mantras, and more. Lowenstein also explores the many teachings of his Kriya yoga teacher, Ganesh Baba.

Goals are a tricky thing. While they are important to have, setting goals for ourselves can re-open some deep emotional wounds and insecurities. Kate Eckman uses her multi-modal expertise as an athlete, executive leadership coach, and meditation teacher to give readers a program that will help them overcome even the most difficult roadblocks that are holding them back. Eckman created this workout to help readers feel excited about overcoming their obstacles and trauma. With daily mind-body-spirit practices, this program will give readers the benefit of addressing all aspects of the issue(s) at hand–the obvious ones, and those that linger beneath the surface.

 

 I Am a Seed: Journaling My Way to Meby Yves Doucet (Balboa Press, $37.95, Hardcover)

Many people hear the word journaling and think of a middle schooler writing down their thoughts and feelings into a notebook. Little do they know, the practice of journaling can actually have a profound positive impact on a person’s quality of life, even for adults! Yves Doucet provides sixty-six days’ worth of intentional musings and considerations to help readers start their journey into journaling. Doucet says an established journaling routine leads to a simpler and more content life.

 

 Shine: Ignite Your Inner Game to Lead Consciously at Work and in the World, by Carley Hauck (Sounds True, $24.99, Hardcover)

For too long, our society has awarded behavior that leads to increased levels of stress and burnout. A Visionary Guide to Lucid Dreaming: Methods for Working with the Deep Dream, by Lee Adams (Destiny Books, $16.99, Paperback) 

Is there a purpose for dreaming? We may never know. But Lee Adams claims that, if incorporated into waking life, lucid dreams can lead to greater self-awareness and transformation. Adams provides tried-and-true tactics to help readers learn from their vivid dreams. He also touches on the history of lucid dreaming and other methods that support dreamwork.
