Happy November, my friends! The big news this month is that it’s eclipse season again. There’s a Lunar Eclipse on November 19th. It’s also Thanksgiving Day, so I hope you enjoy the day surrounded by the people you care about.
Mercury is playing catch-up this month after its retrograde last month. He’s a busy player, connecting here and there with the other planets. What does that mean? Communication is front and center (as it should be all the time). Becoming aware of our thoughts and motivations helps us to be clear with others. It allows us to say how we feel and to set boundaries, as well as to hear how the other person feels.
The New Moon is on November 4th at 4:15 p.m. at 12 degrees of Scorpio. New Moons give you another month to start over and begin anew again. In the sign of Scorpio, you’re shifting, shedding, transforming, and evolving into who you are meant to be. Uranus makes an appearance, which could suggest that you or someone else needs some space. The tighter you hold onto a person or something that’s happening, the more resistance you’ll face. Accept what you can and can’t control, let go, heal, and move forward. Watch your life transform.
This month there is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on November 19th at 2:57 a.m. at 27 degrees of Taurus. Eclipses magnify energy. During a full moon, the focus is on the polarity between the Sun and the Moon; with a Taurus Moon, that means the Sun is in Scorpio. Think of the full moon as shining a spotlight on these two signs in a particular area of your chart. It’s during this time that situations and relationships often come to a turning point. Are you too focused on work and finances? Are you obsessing about a situation? Do your relationships feel like an even give and take, or do they just a drain your energy? Pay attention to these areas, and if you’re not happy with how things are, change them.
The Moon takes about 28 days to complete its orbit through the twelve signs, staying approximately two and a half days in each sign. When we say the Moon is Void of Course (VoC), it means the moon makes no more major aspects to other planets before it leaves the sign it’s in. At these times, it can be difficult to get focused and accomplish a task. You may want to relax, meditate, or do something where your focus is turned inward. Don’t try and get a new project off the ground when the moon is void. If you want to find out more about the Void of Course moon, check out moontracks.com. The times are listed in Central Savings Time.
Monday, November 1
The Mercury Jupiter trine suggests success and possibly being acknowledged for all you’ve accomplished. Use any momentum that you’ve gained and keep working at your craft. Business dealings and communications in general are favored; as is studying something related to spirituality, religion, or philosophy. A positive mindset can help. Moon in Virgo until 12:00 p.m, when it goes VoC. The Moon enters the sign of Libra at 6:11 p.m.
Tuesday, November 2
When Mercury squares Pluto, you could be engaged in some interesting, and maybe intense, conversations. Communication could get heated; if so, remember that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. Take the time to listen and understand how they view the world. It could be fascinating and enlightening. That being said, if you need to call a time out from the conversation, it’s okay to say that you need a break.
Wednesday, November 3
You may not be able to separate your feelings from your thoughts when the Moon conjoins Mercury. Be careful of saying something that could upset someone. It won’t be on purpose, you just want to have a conversation, but things can go sideways. Your intuition may be sending you signals, so take notes! It’s time to switch gears and march to the beat of your own drum. Follow what calls you, even if it scares the pants off you! In the long run, your heart and mind will tell you what’s best for you. Moon VoC at 5:32 p.m. until 7:52 p.m. when it enters the sign of Scorpio.
Thursday, November 4
There’s a New Moon at 12 degrees of Scorpio at 4:15 p.m. This new moon opposes Uranus, which could add an element of surprise into the mix. Not all surprises are bad…but they catch you off guard! New Moons are also about planting seeds; in Scorpio, it could be about a person you’re interested in, and it’s time to make your move. Of course you don’t want to be obsessive or possessive about it or any other relationships. With Uranus opposing the Moon and the Sun, it could be an unexpected overture on your part or someone else’s. Maybe it’s time to look at your finances, as well as any financial partnerships. Make sure that everything is in order, and if not, what better time than a new moon to amend as needed? You may be unaware that someone else is pulling the strings in your relationship, work, or home; or maybe you’re the one pulling the strings? Look further to examine your motives or others’, to see if anyone is being manipulated.
Friday, November 5
This morning’s Moon Jupiter square can help you feel upbeat and carefree. You feel generous, want to share with others, and you want to socialize! Your emotions are amplified — all feelings — so watch where you focus your attention. A flirty smile and feeling envious of others could lead you down a road that you wish you’d never taken. Instead, look at the relationship you’re in and what you contribute to it, as well as what your partner brings to the table. The Moon goes void by 11:10 a.m. This would be a great time to make a plan for what you want to do next and where you see yourself headed. Venus enters the sign of Capricorn at 5:44 a.m. Mercury enters the sign of Scorpio at 5:35 p.m. Moon VoC at 11:10 a.m until 7:52 p.m. when it enters the sign of Sagittarius.
Saturday, November 6
You may feel the time is right to express your love and affection to someone special when Mercury sextiles Venus. Go for a romantic drive and pack a lovely lunch for the two of you! You could read some poetry to your lover. The energy favors doing something related to the arts or whatever else you find beautiful. As well, whenever Venus is involved, there could be discussions about money — have an open, honest conversation about finances.
Sunday, November 7
The Moon is Void of Course for almost half the day. This would be a great time to research any new idea or project that you’re eager to get off the ground. You could also just take a rest from the busyness of life. Connect with your spiritual side, read some philosophy, or just do you (whatever that looks like). You’re allowed. Moon VoC at 7:44 a.m. until 7:03 p.m. when it enters the sign of Capricorn.
Monday, November 8
Feelings, revelations, and inspirations are highlighted when the Moon trines Uranus. Your feelings could go up and down as you look for something new and exciting to get you out of your comfort zone. When you try something different or venture out to a new place, it can bring new people into your life. Be open to new relationships, new opportunities, and inspiration. You never know where it could lead.
Tuesday, November 9
Situations or conversations may become intense or heated when the Moon conjoins Pluto. Words are said and feelings hurt. A good course of action is to not take the bait, breathe, and calmly explain that you’ll discuss the matter at another time, when everyone has had a chance to cool down and reflect on all that’s transpired. With time, you can examine what happened and hopefully have a peaceful discussion. Then the Moon is void until the evening. Take some time to think about where you see yourself in the future. Write down your goals, where you see yourself 1 month, 6 months, and a year from now. Moon VoC at 11:51 a.m. until 9:03 p.m. when it enters the sign of Aquarius.
Wednesday, November 10
In this corner, we have Mercury and Mars! And in this corner, we have the Moon and Saturn! Ding, ding, ding…play nice! When Mercury and Mars conjoin — think fighting words; you may feel you need to go to battle to defend your ideas or actions. The Saturn Moon conjunction emphasizes possible self-esteem issues, depression, or isolation. When Mercury and Mars square the Moon and Saturn, it’s possible that the part of you that feels wounded is the piece that has decided to go in the ring. It’s also possible you’ve attracted it in the ring…someone else is playing this part. People often don’t see their shadow, nor their wounds, and they hurt others because they are hurt. Be kind, be conscious, and be loving.
Thursday, November 11
When the Moon conjoins Jupiter, you generally feel good and see the world with a rosy tint. There’s an I can-do-it energy — which is great, as long as you don’t promise more than you can deliver and burn yourself out. Do what you can, and remember there’s always another day. Your feelings of benevolence and generosity are amplified, and you may want to get together with some friends today. Moon VoC at 1:52 p.m.
Friday, November 12
The Sun trines Neptune, magnifying your sensitivity, intuition, emotions, creativity, and imagination. You’re more empathetic and idealistic and want what is best for others. You’re not afraid of diving into the deep end of emotions, because when you surface, you’ll be stronger for it. You could be idealizing romantic partners as you’re seeing them through a softer lens. There also could be a spiritual component to the Sun Neptune combination, as you contemplate life and search for more meaning. What are your dreams? Neptune is about tapping into your dreams, so revisit your goals, your hopes and wishes, and refocus your energy on what you’d like to create. Moon enters the sign of Pisces at 1:54 a.m.
Saturday, November 13
Your mind could be moving in a million directions, which can make you feel scattered and unsure about which way to turn. The Mercury – Uranus opposition is fast, shocking, and distracting — which can leave you feeling anxious. Too many thoughts will make you go in circles. As difficult as this may sound, pretend you’re watching a movie. Be the observer, watch the thoughts on the screen without attaching any emotion or anxiety. Notice if that calms your nervous system. Moon VoC at 11:40 p.m.
Sunday, November 14
The Moon is not making any major aspects today, but it is in the sign of Aries. You’re asked to step up and lead others. It takes courage to put yourself out there, but you have the knowledge and skills to share with others. Be your most authentic self, show up, and be an example — battle scars and all. The road isn’t always straight — there are twists and turns — but keep moving forward. Moon enters the sign of Aries at 9:48 a.m.
Monday, November 15
The Universe is nudging you, like a mama bird trying to get you to leave the nest. The Sun Jupiter square says be confident and bold, you’ve got this. You have the know-how and the wisdom to go where your heart desires. Be careful of spreading yourself and your energy too thin. Do not overextend your energetic or financial resources. You’re also here to enjoy life, so go play — just remember all things in moderation.
Tuesday, November 16
When the Moon squares Pluto, emotions and situations can feel so intense and overpowering that you may feel like going into protection mode by retreating into your safe haven, hoping no one will bother you. Take time out for yourself and when it feels safe, peek your head out, have a cup off tea, and do what feels nurturing and empowering. You may have shed some layers today, so be kind to yourself. Moon VoC at 9:51 a.m. until 8:18 p.m. when it enters the sign of Taurus.
Wednesday, November 17
There’s a lot to unpack today…the Moon conjoins Uranus and they both oppose Mars. As always, there are many potentials for every aspect, for every individual, and these are just a few. When these three get together, you may feel impatient, restless, or irritable. Situations or people are not moving fast enough for you, and when you express that, it may make some people angry. Uranus likes its freedom and to be different — it can also have flashes of inspiration. A healthy Mars is assertive and can be a great leader; an unhealthy display of Mars may be aggressive, even pushy. My advice for today is to not do anything impulsive that you’ll regret tomorrow.
Thursday, November 18
Creativity, sensitivity, and intuition may be sharper than usual when Mercury trines Neptune. When you catch snippets of a line or a song, see if it has deeper meaning for you today. While the Mercury Neptune is intuitive, when the Moon opposes Neptune, communications may go awry. The two sides of your brain are having a debate, so listen carefully and choose wisely.
Friday, November 19
The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is at 27 degrees of Taurus at 2:57 a.m. Taurus is an earth sign, and with the Full Moon present, spending time in nature could be good for your spirit…it can help ground you and get you into your body. Speaking of your body, pay attention to what you’re eating and try to exercise. Taurus is a sensual sign, so involve all your senses at this time. The Full moon brings in the polarity of the other sign, which is Scorpio. The trick is to find the balance between being deep and intense, and being in the here and now and doing something practical. The Sun and Moon are forming a T-square with Jupiter. Since this is a Lunar Eclipse and Jupiter is involved, expect interactions to be amplified. The Sun, Moon, and Jupiter are all in fixed signs, so being stubborn and not seeing the other person’s point of view is a possibility. Another possibility is taking on more than you can handle. Don’t believe your own press that you can do everything! Be kind to yourself and don’t push yourself too hard. Moon VoC at 2:57 a.m. until 8:33 a.m. when it enters the sign of Gemini.
Saturday, November 20
When Mercury squares Jupiter, you’re optimistic and could be thinking big picture. I’m all for a glass half-full, just make sure that you also pay close attention to any details. There’s also the potential for talking someone’s ear off. I know you’re excited, but take a breath, count to 10, and let others contribute to the conversation as well.
Sunday, November 21
The Sun enters the sign of Sagittarius at 8:34 p.m. Happy Birthday to all the Sagittarians! Conversations may be a little deeper or even heavier (depends on your outlook) when Mercury sextiles Pluto. There are always opportunities for growth when you’re open, honest, and willing to hear the other person’s point of view. It could heal and transform your relationship. This could be a great time to study — your mind should easily grasp the material. Moon VoC at 9:52 a.m. until 9:33 p.m. when it enters the sign of Cancer.
Monday, November 22
You’re not sure if you’re coming or going when the Moon quincunx Saturn. You could be making adjustments in your relationships or at work, and neither feels great. It feels like you’re not giving 100% to either…you’d much rather escape from both. Don’t throw in the towel. Be kind to yourself. Let your loved ones know you’re trying your best. Do what you can at work and see if you can delegate or get someone to assist you. You don’t have to do everything alone.
Tuesday, November 23
The Moon trines Neptune, which can create a sensitive, empathic, and intuitive feel to the day. Follow any hunches you have. Have fun playing whether you’re picking up a paint brush, dancing in your living room, or watching a movie. You decide how you want to connect with the energy. Moon VoC at 11:46 p.m.
Wednesday, November 24
Expressing how you feel may be easier when the Moon trines Mercury. Your passion for a person, situation, or project shines through for all to see. It’s easy to get carried away… you’re so excited! One word of caution: when Mercury is in the sign of Sagittarius, people often think they have the market cornered on truth. Everyone sees things differently and everyone has their own version of truth. Speak with passion, but allow others the space to speak just as enthusiastically as yourself. Mercury enters the sign of Sagittarius at 9:36 a.m. Moon enters the sign of Leo at 9:59 a.m.
Thursday, November 25
Happy Thanksgiving Day to all who celebrate! When the Moon squares Uranus in the morning, there’s an electricity in the air. You’re coiled tightly and ready to flee anywhere at a moment’s notice. You just want an escape from the usual routine. Be on the lookout for out-of-the-ordinary and erratic behaviors — yours or others! You could be irritable or rash when the Moon squares Mars. It’s okay to express how you feel as long as it doesn’t come out accusatory and cause hurt feelings. The morning’s energy is erratic and wants an escape; while the afternoon and evening’s energies are hot and want to be directed. Take charge by helping in the kitchen (if you’re at a big dinner) or go for a walk. Exercise is always an excellent outlet for any energy — repressed or otherwise. Another caution: be careful around sharp objects and hot ovens.
Friday, November 26
In the morning, the Moon will oppose Jupiter. This can play out a few different ways depending on the mood you’re in. If you’re feeling on edge and looking for some drama, Jupiter can amp that up! If you’re feeling generous and magnanimous, again Jupiter will amplify it, but the outcome will be entirely different. Then the Moon is Void of Course at 10:24 a.m. until 8:12 p.m. when it enters the sign of Virgo. When the Moon is void in Leo, you’d like some acknowledgement, maybe a pat on the back. Having a positive outlook and being on the receiving end of a compliment feels great; you can hold your head up high while focusing on your goals. Remember, it’s also nice to extend your hand to help someone else, maybe as a mentor.
Saturday, November 27
The Moon squares the Sun, it’s the fourth quarter Moon. When these two are squaring, you may be feeling defensive about a position you’ve taken. Do you still feel the same way about your stance? It’s possible someone is giving you a hard time, and you’re trying to win them over by going overboard. You’re working your buns off to get on his or her good side, just do your best and the right people will take notice.
Sunday, November 28
Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate! There could be a lot of communication and speaking your mind when the Sun conjoins Mercury. You’re eager to get out and visit with friends. You also want to express your opinions. Some people will be on the same page and some won’t, it’s all good. Listening to another person’s point of view could expand your perspective. Now is a great time to pick up a book to learn about a new topic of interest. If you’re not too busy going here and there…take a moment or two to write down your thoughts or ideas in a journal. Moon VoC at 6:02 p.m.
Monday, November 29
When Mars trines Neptune, you may feel called on to be of service to others. Remember to give with an open heart without expectation or fanfare. If you see someone being treated unfairly, you’ll want to defend them in a soft, gentle manner, versus in an in-your-face way. I like to think of Mars-Neptune as a Spiritual Warrior. Plan for the potential to have fun playing and designing as your creative juices may be flowing! Moon enters the sign of Libra at 2:55 a.m.
Tuesday, November 30
Beauty, the arts, romance, spiritual pursuits, and an active fantasy life come together when Venus sextiles Neptune. You could feel drawn to either visiting an art gallery or trying your hand at doing something artistic. If you’re feeling romantic, you could cuddle up on the couch with your special someone and watch a movie. Try doing something nice for another person and watch them light up! It will make you happy — it’s called the Double Happiness. Another aspect I want to mention is the Sun sextile Saturn. It’s not remotely on the same page as romantic Venus Neptune, but hey, life is about finding balance. The Sun sextile Saturn is telling you to get to work. You have responsibilities and work that needs to be finished. Discipline, order, and doing a great job brings a different kind of reward. So my advice — work hard, then relax and put your feet up. Moon VoC at 10:20 p.m.
