Cosmic Daily Weather – January 2019

by Bernadette Evans

Overview

Welcome to 2019 everyone! I know it’s a cliché, but the years really do seem to fly by. I hope this year will bring you happiness, friendships, laughter, love and, of course, some growth and abundance sprinkled in as well.

2019 charges out of the gate full speed ahead with a Solar eclipse at 15 degrees of Capricorn (for those of you who know the exact degrees in your charts) and two weeks later, a Lunar eclipse at 0 degrees Leo. A Solar eclipse is a New Moon but one that is amplified … a lot. As you know, a New Moon is a time of new beginnings, with a Solar eclipse it may be a new beginning we never saw coming—something completely out of the blue. A Full Moon is a time of releasing, clearing out or endings, also amplified, because of the lunar eclipse. Something we may think of as terrible at the time, for example, losing a job, is making space for a better job or opportunity to arrive. At the time, we are never happy with the endings, yet looking back we can usually see that they happened in our best interests. We don’t always feel the effects of the eclipse on the exact day. We may notice something anywhere from a few days up to a month before or after the eclipse. Of course, some will feel the effects more than others, it will depend on what’s happening in your own chart. Eclipses occur in a pair of signs for approximately 18 to 24 months; they’ll also be in the same sign and degree that they were in 19 years ago. What was happening for you 19 years ago? I remember everyone worrying about the new millennium and what would happen with the computers; would everything shut down? Businesses and power plants were concerned the computers wouldn’t be able to roll over to the year 2000! There was a lot of fear around it. Sounds hard to believe now, doesn’t it? Is there a pervasive fear now? You’ll get different answers from everyone.

The Moon takes about 28 days to complete her orbit through the 12 signs, approximately two and a half days in each sign. When we say the Moon is Void-of-Course (VoC), it means the Moon makes no more major aspects to other planets until it leaves the sign it’s in. At these times, it can be difficult to get focused and accomplish tasks; you may want to relax, meditate or do something where your focus is directed inward. Don’t try to get a big project off the ground when the Moon is void.

All times are listed in Central Standard Time.

Tuesday, January 1

Happy New Year! With the Moon being in Scorpio, you may feel moody and introspective, reflecting on what happened in the past year; take some time out for yourself away from everyone if that’s what you need. Use this time to examine the past and then let it go. It’s a brand new year, time for a fresh start! Moon in Scorpio and goes VoC at 4:26 p.m. and is void for the rest of the evening.

Wednesday, January 2

With the Sun-Saturn conjunction, we want to get organized, make plans and follow through. It’s the perfect time to organize your thoughts and get any details you need to ironed out. Perhaps you should start those New Year’s resolutions and plan ways to follow through. Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:58 am.

Thursday, January 3

Playful, generous, independent and impulsive are some of the traits often associated with a Sagittarius moon, which sounds just like a puppy. A puppy can also wreak havoc on the household by chewing everything in sight and keeping you awake all night; be careful you don’t destroy everything or everyone around you in your pursuit of fun.

Friday, January 4

We start our morning feeling inspired, creative and thinking outside the box when the Moon, Mercury and Uranus all play together. By the afternoon, we may be molding those innovative ideas into something we can touch as the Moon moves into Capricorn. When Mercury enters Capricorn at 9:40 p.m., our thoughts and communication style may be more practical, organized, and methodical with an eye towards success. Moon VoC at 11:41 a.m. until 12:55 p.m. when it enters Capricorn.

Saturday, January 5

What do you want to begin today? We have our New Moon and a Solar eclipse in Capricorn, not to mention, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto are also in Capricorn. The blueprint for today is to build something lasting, a strong foundation that will support you when moving forward. New Moon Solar Eclipse is at 7:28 p.m.

Sunday, January 6

You may run into power struggles with others today when the Moon conjuncts Pluto; either they are trying to control the situation and you, or it could be the other way around. Try to understand the underlying emotions and the reasons why someone may feel the need to use manipulation to get what they want; or why you may feel the need to have the upper hand. Uranus goes direct at 2:27 p.m.

Monday, January 7

Moon-Mars sextile gives us the opportunity to use our intuition and let our ideas take flight. We feel confident and move full-steam ahead feeling assured of success. Ideas and plans for different scenarios are coming to us quickly, write them down so you don’t forget them. Moon VoC at 12:20 a.m. until 12:46 a.m. when it enters Aquarius; Venus enters Sagittarius at 5:18 a.m.

Tuesday, January 8

You may want to think carefully before you speak when Mercury squares Mars. Don’t jump to any conclusions. Once the words are spoken you can’t take them back, best to be silent until you know what you need to say. You don’t want to cause any unnecessary hurt feelings.

Wednesday, January 9

Independence and a restless energy coupled with some unexpected events may show up earlier in the day with the Moon-Uranus sextile. By the afternoon when the Moon is squaring Venus, we may be feeling sensitive when it comes to our relationships. Be kind to yourself and others. Moon VoC at 10:53 a.m. until 1:44 p.m. when it enters Pisces.

Thursday, January 10

Try and quiet your mind for a bit today, even if it’s just for five or ten minutes. With the Moon in Pisces sextile Mercury, it’s a great time to listen to what the Universe and your soul have to say. Then with the Moon-Saturn Sextile, you can build something with the answers you gleaned. It really is a beautiful day; enjoy the energy!

Friday, January 11

Depending on what time you go to work, you can use the Sun-Pluto conjunction to your advantage. It’s early in the day before the Moon is void, and you can use this powerhouse to accomplish quite a lot. The Moon is VoC in Pisces from 8:25 a.m. on. This makes for a good time to tap into your creative juices; what have you been wishing for and dreaming of? Use this time to drift and dream and see what your heart says, write it down, and then act on it (if you still feel called to) when the Moon moves into Aries tomorrow.

Saturday, January 12

How do you want to move forward? The Moon-Venus trine is asking you to examine what it is you value and how your relationships are going? With the Moon-Venus trine, we desire relationships but may also want our freedom. There’s a playful action-oriented feel while also wanting to come and go as we please. Moon enters Aries at 2:18 a.m.

Sunday, January 13

Your thinking and movements are more serious, calculated and methodical when Mercury-Saturn conjunct. Communication can be clear and detailed but may also be overly cautious for fear of taking the wrong step. Don’t let fear keep you from moving forward; if you’ve done your homework, you know if you can proceed or not. Slow and steady wins the race.

Monday, January 14

We feel the need for stability and grounding with the Moon in Taurus. Creating a firm foundation can help us feel safe and secure. What can you do to ground and center yourself? Notice where it is in your body and how it feels, and breathe. Moon VoC at 9:56 a.m. until 12:31 p.m. when it enters Taurus.

Tuesday, January 15

Working with the Moon-Saturn trine gives you the opportunity to look at situations realistically and then choose the course of action you wish to take. When you’ve taken the time to draft a plan, it can bring about concrete results down the road. Studious planning is the tree which will yield the fruit of prosperity.

Wednesday, January 16

Use the earthy Taurus energy early in the day to tap into your strength and wisdom, so that you may gain some solid footing towards your goals. Then this evening when the Moon moves into Gemini, you might want to get together with a friend to bounce some ideas off of them and get their input. Moon VoC at 12:34 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. when it enters Gemini.

Thursday, January 17

With the Moon-Venus opposition, you may feel like someone is pulling away from you and you feel alone or heartbroken. Step back and give yourself some time alone to heal. With the Moon in intellectual Gemini and Venus in playful Sagittarius, you may be trying to rationalize your feelings with someone who needs more independence and freedom.

Friday, January 18

When Venus trines Mars, you feel confident and assertive in your relationships, what you value, and how you make your money. When you feel this good, try to practice compassion, generosity and gratitude. There may also be some more serious discussions when Mercury and Pluto conjunct mid-afternoon. With the Sun-Uranus square this evening you could be feeling antsy and possibly irritated, try not to act too hastily. Moon VoC at 7:32 p.m. until 9:44 p.m. when it enters Cancer.

Saturday, January 19

After yesterday’s action, the Moon in Cancer is calling a time-out, how you do that is up to you. Spend some time today nurturing yourself. Take a bubble bath. Be with people who help you feel nurtured or who you’d love to spoil.

Sunday, January 20

It’s that time of the year when we wish Aquarius “Happy Birthday!” Can you feel the energy building? With our Full Moon Eclipse happening later tonight, you may feel like you’re on the precipice of something big. You’re being asked to release old issues and beliefs and to learn from them so you can move forward in a new direction. How are you going to let your unique beauty shine through? Sun enters Aquarius at 3:00 a.m. Moon VoC at 7:50 p.m. until 9:54 p.m. when it enters Leo; Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 11:16 p.m.

Monday, January 21

You’re probably still feeling the energy of the eclipse and will for a while. Couple that with the Moon in Leo and you may feel you’d like some recognition and appreciation for something you’ve done. Take a breath, pat yourself on the back and recognize your own achievements whether anyone else notices them or not…well done!

Tuesday, January 22

Venus and Jupiter are dancing very closely today. Your heart is full, you’re having fun socializing, feeling generous and the world is your oyster! Who am I to rain on your parade—I love this energy! Just be careful of overindulging, whether it’s too much food, too much wine or overspending, you don’t want to regret it tomorrow. Moon VoC at 7:19 p.m. until 9:22 p.m. when it enters Virgo.

Wednesday, January 23

Inspiration strikes today when Mercury squares Uranus. Your ideas are original and ahead of their time, but you might bump up against resistance from a boss or someone in authority. Watch your tongue and don’t be arrogant, explain your ideas and how they can be of use. Mercury enters Aquarius 11:49 p.m.

Thursday, January 24

There’s a desire to push your dreams, your plans forward. With the Moon void most of the day, think about how you want to proceed but just sit with them and let them percolate before pushing forward. Moon VoC at 7:50 a.m. and most of the day until 10:02 p.m. when it enters Libra.

Friday, January 25

With the Mars-Jupiter trine, you’re feeling confident and self-assured. Life is full of adventures and opportunities and you want to seize the moment. Everything is over in an instant. What are you waiting for?

Saturday, January 26

The Moon sextiles Venus, and when the Libra Moon is in harmony with its ruler, it bodes well for hanging out with friends and family. Take some time to build on your relationships or go to a Meetup group and cultivate new friendships, where ideas are shared and connections are made. Moon VoC at 11:21 p.m.

Sunday, January 27

With the Moon in Scorpio, you may want to spend some time in meditation—however that looks to you. Meditation can be going for a walk in nature, painting a picture or actually sitting in silence. When we quiet the mind, our soul has a chance to speak…so listen. Moon enters the sign of Scorpio at 1:31 a.m.

Monday, January 28

With the Moon-Neptune trine, you’re feeling sensitive and your intuition is fine-tuned. Be aware of your surroundings and differentiate between your feelings and others’ feelings. Then the Moon quincunx Mars, which may leave you feeling frustrated and misunderstood. You could get angry and lose your temper. This is all before noon! Moon VoC at 4:39 p.m.

Tuesday, January 29

The Moon in Sagittarius gives us a feeling of being an explorer. We long to travel, visit foreign lands or learn a new language. It’s fire, so we just want some excitement. What adventure are you longing for? You also may want to go have coffee with a friend and discuss a variety of subjects when the Sun conjuncts Mercury. Putting two heads together could provide some thought-provoking conversation. Moon enters Sagittarius at 8:33 a.m.

Wednesday, January 30

The Moon-Neptune square may have you feeling very dizzy and overwhelmed today. You may feel confused about which direction to take. There are just too many choices to pick from. It kind of feels like a kid in a candy store with all the goodies to sample.

Thursday, January 31

The Moon will conjunct Venus and then trine Uranus. You may want to be looking for some freedom—breathing room—in your relationships. The unusual and unconventional hold a certain allure for you. You may be yearning to start a grand adventure. It takes courage and faith to travel uncharted waters. Don’t let the unknown scare you; every adventure starts with a first step! Moon VoC at 4:33 p.m. until 6:47 p.m. when it enters Capricorn.
