I can’t believe it’s the last month of 2021! To say it’s been an interesting year is an understatement. The month of December is a busy one, so let’s get started.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse is on December 4th at 12 degrees of Sagittarius at 11:43 a.m. It’s the second eclipse of this set of eclipses, and the final one of the Gemini/Sagittarius cycle. This eclipse, you may be feeling the need to explore and travel. If you’re unable to travel far, you can always watch some programs where people are visiting different locales. Be an explorer in your own backyard! Maybe you just want to expand your horizons by studying a new subject. Go wherever your heart guides you.
The Full Moon is on December 18th at 27 degrees of Gemini at 10:36 p.m. This full moon highlights faith and optimism, but you may feel scattered and pulled in many directions. So decide where to focus your energy.
This month, Neptune stations direct on December 1st, while Venus stations retrograde on December 19th. Venus will be retrograde for almost six weeks. Venus rules relationships, love, beauty, money, and what you value. When Venus retrogrades, it’s time to re-evaluate all those areas. Look inward and examine where you need to make some changes. For a good part of December, Venus is conjoined with Pluto. All of the areas that Venus rules will be transforming. Change is not always easy, but the only way to move forward is to go through it. You’re strong and can do this!
Another big event, (I told you it was a busy month) is Jupiter moving into the sign of Pisces on December 28th. You had a sneak preview when it went through Pisces in May, June, and July. Now Jupiter will be in Pisces for a good part of the year. It does dip its toe into the sign of Aries in May and onward, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, spirituality, and wanting to believe in something greater. It also rules overextending yourself and overpromising. When Jupiter is in Pisces, it can be idealistic — maybe not seeing everything clearly. You may seek to know yourself more through spirituality, or by displaying empathy and generosity to others. Another potential is losing yourself by escaping. That can look different for everyone. For some, it’s drugs or alcohol. For others, it’s Netflix. While for others, it could be shopping. There are many ways to escape. Everyone needs some form of diversion, as long as you don’t stay there too long.
Have a great December and enjoy the holiday season! I’ll see you in 2022!
The Moon takes about 28 days to complete its orbit through the twelve signs, staying approximately two and a half days in each sign. When we say the Moon is Void of Course (VoC), it means the moon makes no more major aspects to other planets before it leaves the sign it’s in. At these times, it can be difficult to get focused and accomplish a task. You may want to relax, meditate, or do something where your focus is turned inward. Don’t try and get a new project off the ground when the moon is void. If you want to find out more about the Void of Course moon, check out moontracks.com. The times are listed in Central Savings Time.
Wednesday, December 1
You may feel like walking — or even running – away, to escape a situation or how you feel. When the Moon squares Saturn, there’s a desire for time alone, so you isolate yourself. There’s a real need for connection, for a friend to talk to; but you shy away because you don’t want to bother them with your problems. Trust me, a good friend wants you to reach out. Remember this feeling is fleeting. Neptune stations direct at 7:22 a.m. Moon enters the sign of Scorpio at 5:55 a.m.
Thursday, December 2
When the Moon conjoins Mars, you could feel bold and follow your passion. It takes courage to believe and trust yourself. Take this opportunity to harness this energy and express your true desire by going after what you want. Moon VoC at 11:22 p.m.
Friday, December 3
You may feel like you’re being pulled in two different directions with the Sun Uranus quincunx. There’s a restless feeling to the day. You may not even be able to put your finger on it. A part of you wants to do one thing or go one way, while the other part of you is tugging at you to do something totally different. If you don’t experience it internally, you could encounter it in your dealings with other people. Is it possible to keep both sides happy? You never know…you can try. Moon enters the sign of Sagittarius at 6:13 a.m.
Saturday, December 4
There’s a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius at 12 degrees at 1:43 a.m. The energies are amplified during an eclipse. Mercury is a few degrees away from the Sun and Moon, but still getting his two cents in nonetheless. New Moons are about focusing your energy on a specific area of life. A Sagittarius Moon says cast your nets far and wide. You could be feeling antsy and have the travel bug. If you’re unable to travel far at this time, explore your own hometown. Discover new walking trails or be an arm-chair traveler! Research some places you’d like to visit in the future. With Mercury being part of this eclipse energy and in the sign of Sagittarius, you may be studying something. If not, you could feel called to take a class. Remember to take time to have fun too! Explore, laugh, play, tap into your inner child, and have some good belly laughs. Moon VoC at 11:08 p.m.
Sunday, December 5
When the Moon is in Capricorn, you feel secure in yourself and your abilities. It’s an earthy energy, helping you ground, be practical, and tend to important matters. This could be the perfect day to go over your finances and make a new budget. Having a plan can help you feel more secure and keep your finances in check. Moon enters the sign of Capricorn at 5:31 a.m.
Monday, December 6
The Moon Venus conjunction could bring you recognition for all of your hard work; it highlights the value you place on doing a good job and now you’re being recognized for it. Accept the accolades and pat yourself on the back. The Moon Pluto conjunction emphasizes deeper feelings, connections, and knowing that everything is cyclical. Moon VoC at 10:42 p.m.
Tuesday, December 7
You may feel as if you’re trying to pick your way through the fog when Mercury squares Neptune. Conversations seem muddled or confusing because either you or the other person are not communicating clearly. It’s as if the two of you are speaking different languages — so misunderstandings are inevitable. Pay close attention if you’re involved in any business deals. I’m not saying someone is outright deceiving you, but they might not be telling you everything. It’s always better to err on the side of caution; so if something doesn’t feel right, walk away. Moon enters the sign of Aquarius at 5:49 a.m.
Wednesday, December 8
You’re focused on a goal and nothing can divert your gaze when Mars squares Jupiter. Being confident and single-minded is fantastic and can help you reach your destination. Map out your plan for the future. A word of caution (you knew it was coming): Do Not Over-extend Yourself! You may think you have all the stamina in the world to pull off everything you envision and more, but don’t stretch yourself so thin you become exhausted and ill. You still live on the planet and need to look after your body/mind/soul.
Thursday, December 9
The Moon glides through the sign of Pisces, not making any major aspects today. You could take this time to tune into your inner compass and find your true north. What calls you? Shhhh…if you can quiet your mind for a few moments and listen, you might hear that little voice speaking, guiding you. You could just sit with no agenda, just be still and present…nothing more. Moon VoC at 4:00 a.m. until 8:53 a.m. when it enters the sign of Pisces.
Friday, December 10
There may be some tension when the Moon squares the Sun. Irritating little shocks, either from others or within, are brought to the surface. Be open to solutions no matter where or from whom they come. The Moon Neptune conjunction stimulates your imagination and your empathy. It’s easy to become overwhelmed when the Moon and Neptune are connected. You’re picking up signals — some of them are yours, while some belong to others. Be mindful of spending too much time with people who sap your energy. Your imagination and creative juices are flowing. Careful of being lost in the stream of multiple ideas and not being able to pick one. Have fun creating. It can be a beautiful energy, you just have to work consciously with it, or it will pass you by.
Saturday, December 11
The planet of relationships, love, and beauty is snuggled up with the planet of death and regeneration, while Venus conjoins Pluto. It’s exact today, but you could have been feeling this intense energy for awhile. If you’ve put the work into your relationships and anything else you love and value, you’ll see the result. It could be a hot, passionate day. If you haven’t been paying attention to your partnerships, it could be difficult. You may be trying to control or manipulate your partner or others; or maybe someone is exerting pressure on you. Be alert and conscious of everything and everyone around you. Step back and observe. What is your response? Have you been unconsciously drawing it to you? It never hurts to do some internal investigating. Moon VoC at 1:40 p.m. until 3:46 p.m. when it enters the sign of Aries.
Sunday, December 12
You may feel physically tired when the Sun squares Neptune. Take good care of your body, but also remember to nourish your mind and soul. Secrets or hidden agendas could come to light. Make sure you’re not doing anything that is underhanded. The Sun Neptune combination emphasizes seeing the best in others. It’s good to think the best of people, but don’t be gullible. You’re also dreaming about the future and what it could like. Write down a realistic vision.
Monday, December 13
When the Moon trines the Sun, you feel confident and calm, knowing you are doing exactly what you need to do. Whether it’s in your personal life or at work, you feel capable. Then the energy shifts when the Moon squares Pluto and Venus. There could be a conflict between you and another. Just as a storm can stir things up in nature, they eventually die down and pass. There could be a clash, but then like the storm, a calm will descend, and hopefully new growth will emerge. Mars enters the sign of Sagittarius at 3:53 a.m. Mercury enters the sign of Capricorn at 11:52 a.m. Moon VoC at 8:52 p.m.
Tuesday, December 14
There could be a focus on completing a task when the Moon squares Saturn. Put your head down and finish it, so it won’t weigh on your mind. You may be feeling a little down or separated from others at this time. Your perception is skewed. Remember you do have people in your corner — give them a call. The melancholy will pass. Moon enters the sign of Taurus at 2:11 a.m.
Wednesday, December 15
There’s the possibility of picking up the energy of other people when the Moon sextiles Neptune. Be conscious of with whom you’re spending your time; if they are negative, it could affect you (especially if you’re sensitive). Protect your energy and limit time with those who may drain it. You could be fantasizing about what you’d like to create. Write some of your ideas on paper, fine-tune them. You are a treasure, and your ideas are golden.
Thursday, December 16
You’re quick to cut to the chase when the Moon opposes Mars. You’re direct, speak your mind, and take action. Try to temper your straight-forward approach, to lessen the sting. Moon VoC at 10:08 a.m. until 2:43 p.m. when it enters the sign of Gemini.
Friday, December 17
You may be able to pull inspiration out of thin air and apply it when the Moon trines Saturn. You’re able to put aside feelings that could sidetrack you so you can follow through on whatever needs to be done. An older person, someone who you admire, could be a source of help to you. You might think you have to do it all on your own, but you don’t. Ask for assistance.
Saturday, December 18
There’s a Full Moon in Gemini at 27 degrees at 10:36 p.m. During this full moon, the Sun is in Sagittarius and the Moon is in Gemini. You may be tempted to take on a lot of different projects, but what if you focused on just one? Okay two, if you’re really a go-getter! Jupiter will trine the Moon shortly after it’s full — adding its optimistic, hopeful, and faith-filled energy to the mix. It actually sounds pretty lovely! Did you begin something new two weeks ago, during the New Moon in Sagittarius? Do you still need to do some work to bring it to fruition? Full moons are generally a time when you might release something. With the moon in Gemini, you may feel scattered — as if you have too many things happening at once. Can you release one of these projects? Instead of running in circles and not getting anywhere, focus on your future, your dreams. Be positive, have faith in yourself and the Universe that you can accomplish what you set your heart/mind on.
Sunday, December 19
Today the Sun makes a lovely sextile with Jupiter. There are ebbs and flows in life, and this is one of those juicy flowing aspects… so enjoy it. Maybe you want to go out with friends. Do it! Or maybe you want to start mapping out your future plans! Afterall, the New Year is just around the corner. Venus Retrogrades at 4:36 a.m. Moon VoC at 12:02 a.m. until 3:42 a.m. when it enters the sign of Cancer.
Monday, December 20
You may be involved in some interesting conversations when Mercury trines Uranus. You’re open to listening to others’ ideas and thoughts. You don’t have to agree, but you can give them space to express themselves. Pay attention to your intuition. It’s possible you have insight into something that’s been blocking you. Lastly, do something different. Whether it’s picking up a book about something that fascinates you or following wherever you’re guided. Have fun, you never know where it could lead you.
Tuesday, December 21
The Sun enters the sign of Capricorn at 9:59 a.m. Happy Birthday to all my dear Capricorn friends! It’s also the Winter Solstice here in the northern hemisphere. The longest night of the year. After today, the days will start to get longer. Take some time tonight to celebrate and honor the Sun, and the warmth and renewal it brings into your life. Early in the morning, the Moon will oppose Pluto and Venus before it goes Void of Course. This can amplify your feelings and could show up in a variety of ways. Remember that partnerships can be romantic, platonic, one-to-one, business-related, etc. Whatever the connection, it will be accompanied by powerful emotions — some of which may manifest as control or manipulation. It’s not always pleasant, but relationships always stretch you and help you grow. Moon VoC at 8:44 a.m. until 3:54 p.m. when it enters the sign of Leo.
Wednesday, December 22
You could feel cold, unhappy, or depressed when the Moon opposes Saturn. Chances are you just want to be left alone. Maybe spending time alone to figure out what is bothering you isn’t a bad idea! On the other hand, if you need help, remember to reach out to a friend. Keep in mind, this is transitional and will be over before you know it.
Thursday, December 23
The Moon will quincunx both Pluto and Venus today. You could feel playful and want to just have fun; but maybe someone is raining on your parade (at least it feels that way). A boss or another individual is telling you to complete your work. Be a multitasker – finish the work so you can enjoy yourself. A little bit of work plus a little bit of play equals keeping everyone happy.
Friday, December 24
In the early morning, the Moon trines the Sun. If you have any chores you want to finish, this transit should help you. You feel confident and sure of yourself. The Moon squares Mars in the early evening, which is when things could get tense. Be careful of saying something off the cuff that could cause you trouble and friction. Think before you speak. You may be the one who’s on the receiving end of a careless remark. Breathe and count to ten before you respond…or do you even need to respond? Moon VoC at 12:39 a.m. until 2:24 a.m. when it enters the sign of Virgo.
Saturday, December 25
Merry Christmas to everyone who’s celebrating the holiday! Venus has been next to Pluto for a while, then she went retrograde and conjoins it again. There are always multiple ways any scenario can play out. The crux of it — you want deeper connections, someone who gets you, listens to you, and is willing to go to the depths with you. All connections should be a two-way street. Can you do the deep dive with your partner? When the Moon opposes Neptune, you may be sensitive and emotional. You’re confused about what you’re feeling about people and situations. You’re not sure if you should trust your intuition. Perceptions could be skewed so don’t take anything or anyone too seriously. Enjoy this day and put the other stuff out of your mind.
Sunday, December 26
You may feel a strain in a relationship when the Moon squares the Sun. It’s irritating, but you should pay attention — or it could escalate the problem. If you contributed in any way to the situation, own up to it. Life is full of lessons, learn from them and move forward. Moon VoC at 2:39 a.m. until 10:24 a.m. when it enters the sign of Libra.
Monday, December 27
When the Moon is in Libra, take the time to connect with friends. Whether it’s over the phone, by text, or in person, it could actually help you stay grounded. It lets you and the other person know there’s someone on the planet that cares about me and how I’m doing. It may not always be possible to get together in person. It’s still important to let the people you love know that you care.
Tuesday, December 28
You may feel as if you’re stuck in the mud when Mars quincunx Uranus. Ideas and actions are not coming together the way you’d like. If you move this way, you have to adjust on the other end — and so it goes, back and forth. That sounds tiring, and you may just end up digging yourself in deeper! So quit spinning your wheels. Slow down and look at the situation from a different vantage point. Be still. Embrace the mud. Jupiter enters the sign of Pisces at 10:09 p.m. Moon VoC at 3:11 p.m. until 3:16 p.m. when it enters the sign of Scorpio.
Wednesday, December 29
Communication is front and center, when Mercury conjoins Venus and Pluto. You want to express all your thoughts and beliefs to the people you care about. Talking about how you feel and listening to your partner or another person can elevate your relationship to the next level. When you consciously think about your desires, you can be a co-creator of your own existence. So what are you thinking, saying, and creating?
Thursday, December 30
The Moon sextiles Venus, Pluto, and Mercury. You want to make deep connections with your friends. You’re into meaningful conversations about life, while sharing your thoughts, feelings, and dreams. Be co-creators with your friends. You’re on this planet together, why not have some fun creating together while you’re here. Moon VoC at 11:10 a.m. until 5:08 p.m. when it enters the sign of Sagittarius.
Friday, December 31
When the Moon conjoins Mars, you may be excitable. You could be thinking, it’s New Years Eve…what better time to let loose? Actually, be careful. Pay attention to your surroundings so you don’t hurt yourself or others. You could be quick to react either physically or verbally, so have fun — but slow down. Another way to use this energy is to be a leader. Show others how to be strong and believe in themselves. Be a beacon of light and strength, encouraging other people to show up to be their best selves.
