Happy New Year! There’s lots of exciting new energy coming up. Of course, exciting can mean the best of times or the worst of times depending on how you look at it. But remember, throughout difficult times in history, there have always been people who have prospered. That can be you when you look for opportunities and make proactive choices. There are incredible changes happening in the world over the next few years. The biggest obstacle ahead is being so distracted by the myriad of choices of entertainment and attention-grabbing headlines that you forget to look for opportunities.
January 2 brings the new moon in Capricorn with a semi-sextile to Saturn and a trine to Uranus. During this time we’ll be looking for change and excitement and trying to let go of extra work (especially busy work).
In the month of January, we look forward and backward as both Venus and Mercury will be retrograde at some point. Venus went retrograde back in December and will turn direct on January 29. Venus retrograde gives us the opportunity to reconsider what we want. It’s a time to review relationships, shopping habits, and what we find to be pleasurable. Tastes change, and this is your time to see if you want something different.
Mercury is retrograde from January 14 to February 3. Mercury retrograde is represented by all the “re-” words. This is a time to redo, reconnect, relearn, readjust, reframe, reappraise, etc. Mercury retrograde can be quite beneficial for going back to a healthy eating plan, learning a language, or anything else you want to repeat multiple times during the year.
Jupiter is now in Pisces. It will remain there until May 10, 2022. It goes into Aries for the summer, and then it will be back in Pisces from October 28, 2022 to December 20, 2022. Jupiter is quite at home in Pisces. It expands your intuitive ability, your interest in spirituality, and for speculators, it may give a boost to your oil and mining stocks.
On January 17, there’s a full moon in Cancer. The sun is conjunct intense Pluto. This can feel like a test of will power. You may be focused single-mindedly on a goal like an explorer trudging through the snow and ice to the south pole (congratulations Preet Chandi on your solo walk).
The North Node goes into Taurus on January 18. This will be an 18-month transit. The North Node helps us learn about ourselves, and as it goes into Taurus, we look at our personal values, how we handle money, and where we feel lack. We think about what makes us feel secure and what our worth is within society. We can crave more of everything that’s important to us, more friends, a nicer home, a better job, and an easier lifestyle.
And next month we will be talking about the year of the water Tiger which starts on February 1.
Aries
Your focus is on career. There could be a change in management, or your company may merge with a rival. There’s possible recognition for you or a better position that you can slide into. You are noticeable, and if you’re looking for love, you have excellent possibilities. Someone in the family could be traveling, so this means a trip to the airport. Financially, you can do quite well this month when a windfall lands in your lap. You may be considering going back to school or taking a video course.
Taurus
It looks like you’re closing a legal matter this month. There is a great deal of focus on education, including dealing with student loan debt. You may have some hard work ahead at your job, but this could yield a bigger paycheck. Relationship energy is quite good. If you’re dating, you might get engaged or buy a house together. You can find someone with whom you have great sexual chemistry. You may get interested in a new type of investment and spend a lot of time looking at video tutorials.
Gemini
There’s a great deal of focus on finances, investments, and debt this month. You may be consolidating credit card debt, refinancing your mortgage, or building your savings. There is something new happening at your job, and this could mean a promotion for you. There’s lots of relationship energy, but some of it you find a little exasperating. There could be miscommunications between you and your partner. Don’t trust the auto-correct this month. Someone from a foreign land becomes a new friend.
Cancer
Cancer, this is one of your best relationship months. This is a great time to meet new friends, find business partners, mentors, or influencers who want to help you out. For your existing love relationship, this is a time to tell each other the truth, as it’s going to come out one way or the other. Past PR issues at your company are clearing up, or your business is working out the supply chain issues which is making your job easier and more enjoyable. You may read a life-changing book on productivity.
Leo
Health and well-being are in the spotlight this month. You might try meditation, yoga classes, or you could be focused on healthy eating. You see good results before the end of the month. There’s some improvement at your company. Recent changes are benefitting the bottom line. Romance is highly likely. If you’re looking for love, this is one of the best months for finding a long-term relationship. Your money situation greatly improves as you sit down, create a budget, and keep track of spending.
Virgo
Joy and creativity are highlighted this month. You might be displaying your art in a gallery show or be on stage playing in a band. There is also fertility energy. If you’re looking to expand the family, you have some good luck this month. You’re working a lot. You may be working more hours than usual to try to catch up on a project. If you’re single, you could find someone who sweeps you off of your feet. You may be looking at investments and finding new strategies for creating passive income sources.
Libra
Home and family are what’s on your mind this month. You might be moving or doing some home renovations. You may be signing a contract that is business-or job-related. This could lead to an uptick in your finances now and in the future. You might get back together with an ex-lover, or you may get in touch with a friend you haven’t seen in a long time. A car trip is possible, perhaps to a nearby city or state. You may have more interaction than usual with siblings, cousins, or younger relatives.
Scorpio
Scorpio, this month is filled with paperwork, contracts, and lots of communication. Your voice mailbox may be full much of the time. A legal matter could come to a close and this could bring you some extra money. On the other hand, something in the house breaks and it will cost you cash to fix. Someone in the family could announce a pregnancy. You are attracted to a very interesting person. This could be a tantalizing romance or a fascinating new friend. You can score a pair of tickets at a great price.
Sagittarius
There are many money opportunities for you this month. Sagittarius, this is one of the best months for starting a side business, selling excess possessions, or opening your arms to receive gifts. You may put in some extra hours at work when a coworker goes on leave. You may become friends with a world traveler. This could be a romantic encounter if you’re looking for love. You could stumble upon a book or TV series you become quite obsessed about. Or you may finish writing your novel.
Capricorn
You could receive high-fives and accolades this month. You may be finishing a big project or showing off one of your many skills. At work, you may get a promotion or new team members to help you out. Cash flow is a little tight this month due to some extra spending last month, but you’re getting back on track. You and your sweetheart may arrange a secret rendezvous to explore some intimate fantasy. You might have a psychic reading, visit a medium, or take a natal astrology class this month.
Aquarius
It’s out with the old and maybe not bringing in that much new. You may be decluttering and minimizing your possessions to free up space in your life. Rumors at your company are probably true. There could be a big shakeup toward the end of the month. You have an opportunity to have a great connection with an intimate partner. If you’re looking for love, you may find it with someone who’s not necessarily your type. You’re lucky with money this month. Some funds that were lost are recovered.
Pisces
This month, you get a little more help from others and a lot more luck. You might notice how often your intuition is right on. You may be looking to expand your knowledge by taking a class or video course. Your circle of friends expands as you join a new hobby, club, or networking group. Your company talks about big plans, and you may see an opportunity in that. A friendship could blossom into romance if you start with a little flirting. You may run into a celebrity who’s willing to take a picture with you.
