What would you think if I told you that having a tidy, organized office can be as intrinsic to your business’ success as having the right five-year plan, the right business partner, or the right business contacts?

Surely a little mess is just a sign that you’re working too hard to care about housekeeping!” Well, as a world-renowned Feng Shui Master and teacher of the Law of Attraction, I’m here to show you that your environment has a direct impact on your success and, with some quick and easy Feng Shui activations, you can increase your cash flow, improve your customer and client relations, and create a long-lasting business legacy.
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese energy system all about boosting the positive flow of energy, or “chi”, in your home and workspace. By putting the right items in the right places and by activating your Personal Direction, you can use this energy flow in order to manifest your business goals and make your dreams a reality. Think of it like this: your home or workspace acts as a sort of blueprint for what it is you want to attract. In much the same way as you would stick images onto a sheet of paper to create a two-dimensional vision board, Feng Shui expands that idea to create a living, breathing, three-dimensional vision board. So, where should you begin?
Diamond Feng Shui Tip 1: Sit Like a Leader
When you’re sitting at your desk, are you able to see the gifts from the Universe when they come to you, or do you sit with your back to them? There’s a principle in Feng Shui known as “the power position”, which refers to the way you position yourself in your space so that you’re the most powerful person in the room. The first and most important rule of power position is that you must be able to see the door to the room without having to turn your neck.
Why is this important? Well, in terms of Feng Shui, you want to make sure you’re in the path of the incoming flow of energy. You want to see all the opportunities that enter through the door, and you want to make sure you’re making yourself accessible to any good fortune that comes knocking.
What to Do:
In your office, position your desk so that you’re facing the door and so there’s a solid wall behind you. If it’s not possible for you to do this, place a small mirror in front of you so that the door is reflected in it. This way, you’ll still be able to keep an eye on what’s coming in and out.
Diamond Feng Shui Tip 2: Declutter Your Office
From filing cabinets bursting with papers to desks littered with unopened mail and empty coffee cups, offices can be home to all sorts of work-related debris. Not only can this put a damper on your productivity (after all, it’s hard to stay on top of things when you’re forever searching for your phone charger, keys, or a copy of that all-important invoice!) but it can wreak havoc with your manifestation abilities. According to Feng Shui, clutter can cause the energy flow in your home to weaken and become stagnant meaning that you’ll find it much harder to attract your business goals. Enter: space clearing!
In Feng Shui, space clearing is the process of mindfully sorting through everything to see what you should keep, what should be donated, sold, or gotten rid of entirely. Along with helping to eliminate mess-related stress, it also helps energy in the room be able to flow more freely. On top of that, it helps you to make room (both physically and emotionally) for exciting new opportunities in your life.
What to Do:
Begin by spraying some lavender air mist in your office. Then, have five bags placed in the center:
- The first bag will be for everything you decide to keep
- The second bag will be for anything you decide to throw away
- The third bag will be for anything you want to give to your friends and family
- The fourth bag will be for anything you decide to donate to charity
- The fifth bag will be for anything you decide to sell, perhaps online or in a consignment store
Go through the drawers, bookcases, and cupboards in your office and place everything inside them in one of the five piles. A quick way to decide what stays and what goes is to ask yourself whether you’re going to use this item in the next year. If it’s a no, consider getting rid of it.
Once you’ve sorted through all the items and before you return the things you want to keep, the final step is to scrub clean with lavender soap any storage areas that you’ve emptied so that you’re cleansing away those old, lingering energies. Then, return the relevant items in an organized, tidy way. Congratulate yourself for a job well done and know that you’re another step along the journey of opening up your office to fresh, abundant energy that will help attract new, exciting business opportunities!
Diamond Feng Shui Tip 3: Be Supported by the Universe All the Time
Think back to anytime you’ve seen a photo of a CEO, president, or even a royal family member sitting down. Are they sitting on a wonky chair with worn-out stuffing and nowhere to rest their arms? Of course not! They’re always sitting in a high-backed chair which looks comfortable and provides plenty of support for both their back and neck. Whilst the chair may not literally be made of gold, you can be sure that they feel like they’re sitting on a throne!
What to Do:
Invest in a high-quality, high-backed chair with armrests.
If you’re not able to invest in a new chair, you can make sure that you have support in the form of religious or spiritual symbols. This can be anything from images or statues of religious figures, holy books, or even photos of your business idols.
Diamond Feng Shui Tip 4: Find Your Personal Directions
As part of my unique Feng Shui approach, I take into an account a person’s Personal Energy Number. This is a number from one to nine and is based on your date of birth and your birth sex. Each Personal Energy Number has four best “Personal Directions” where the energy in each room in your home is the most powerful for you. There’s a Personal Direction for attracting success, good health, good relationships, and wisdom. In regard to activating your office, we’ll be focusing primarily on locating your Success and Relationship Directions.
What to Do:
Find out your Personal Energy Number with the free Marie Diamond app and use the Diamond Compass to locate your Success Direction and your Relationship Direction in your office.
Ensure that there’s no mess, clutter, or trash cans located in either your Success or Relationship Direction. Have a quick tidy-up of this area to ensure you’re not symbolically “throwing your success away” in the trash!
Diamond Feng Shui Tip 5: Activate Your Personal Directions
You can “activate” your Success Directions by displaying symbols of power in the area where your Success Direction is located. These can be images or objects that represent your business goals and dreams. You can display your symbols of power either on a pinboard hung up on the wall of your Success Direction, or on a table placed in this direction.
What Are Symbols of Power?
- Images of successful people in your profession or who have achieved goals similar to yours
- Images of your business idols and heroes or copies of their biographies
- Any certificates or awards that you’ve won
- Fake awards, like an Oscar, with your name on it
- Photoshopped magazine covers with your image on them
- Images of your company logos or marketing material
As for your Relationship Direction, you can attract a more worldwide clientele by displaying a globe in the area where your Relationship Direction is located, or flags from the countries of your main marketbase. You can display a team photo, or a photo of you with your managers. If you’ve received any positive reviews from customers (either in the form of a handwritten letter, an email, or an online review) or any sort of customer service-related award, your Relationship Direction would be the perfect place to display them proudly.
Diamond Feng Shui Tip 6: Add the Diamond Quantum Colors for Success
In Diamond Feng Shui, there are twenty-four Diamond Quantum Colors that act as a shorthand for what it is you want to attract. These colors have the ability to boost the energy flow of our home and workspace and remember; the better the energy flow, the quicker and more effortlessly we’re able to manifest the things we want!
What Are the Diamond Quantum Colors for Success?
In Diamond Feng Shui, the colors for attracting success are royal blue, cobalt blue, and gold. In your Success Direction, you can add candles, tablecloths, and other accessories in these colors.
Additionally, you can also use these colors to Feng Shui your stationery. When filing away your papers, choose the following colors:
- Royal blue folders for very important projects or for any projects where you feel you aren’t being shown enough respect
- Cobalt blue folders for projects that that you’re currently undertaking
- Gold-colored folders for documents relating to money
- Orange folders for documents relating to networking, business contacts, or HR matters
- Aqua blue folders for projects you need to do more research on
Label your folders with a gold marker on a white, sticky label and store them away in your filing cabinet when they’re not in use to avoid cluttering your desk.
