COMMON GROUND: JESUS/PAUL, WITH JERROL LEITNER. Jesus’ message is primarily to Israel, but Paul’s mission is to the Gentiles. Jesus preaches the Kingdom of God, but Paul preaches Jesus the Christ. Noting this disparity, some scholars claim that Paul changes the religion OF Jesus to a religion ABOUT Jesus. Other scholars suggest that Paul replaces Jesus’ Judaism with a spirituality that evolves into Christianity.
