Overview
November is a busy month with some planets going direct and some going retrograde. Venus starts to slowly move forward on Nov. 16; while that same day, in the evening, Mercury stations retrograde. You may have felt things start to slow down at the beginning of the month as Mercury began its pre-retrograde shadow phase on Oct. 28. Mercury will retrograde for approximately three weeks and then will be in its Post-retrograde shadow phase for seven days.
Mercury is the planet of communication, so when the planet of communication goes retrograde there is the potential for miscommunication—emails getting lost, voicemails disappearing and possibly computers crashing. This also isn’t the best time to sign a contract, but life must go on. If you need to sign a document or buy a phone or computer, do so and ask the gods to smile on you and give you a break. Not everything is doom and gloom when Mercury goes retrograde; this is a good time to reorganize your home or office, review how you communicate with others, revise any documents, rethink your connections and revisit what goals you’ve been meaning to accomplish.
This month the New Moon will be in Scorpio on Nov. 7 at 10:02 a.m. The new moon is about setting intentions for the month ahead. When it’s in Scorpio, we need to ask ourselves, what we desire and what we are passionate about. There may be things below the surface that you’ve never admitted to anyone else or possibly even yourself that scare you because of their intensity. Examine these pieces and bring them into the light.
The Full Moon will be in Gemini on Nov. 22 at 11:39 p.m. Full moons are about releasing energies, so what do you want to let go of? With the full moon in Gemini, you may be feeling scattered and not sure of what needs to go. After all, Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is retrograde and remember when I said this is a great time to review, revisit, rethink and revise?
Jupiter moves into Sagittarius this month where it will stay for 13 months. This is a happy and comfortable placement for Jupiter. We may feel more optimistic and philosophical and seek to improve ourselves by reaching for a far-off goal.
Mars will move into Pisces this month for a brief visit; and while not being overjoyed by this, he knows he’s not staying long, six weeks, and then he can leave. When Mars visits the sign of illusions and visions he can either get lost and be confused. Or, he can come up with some ingenious ideas and weave them into a beautiful tapestry.
Last but not least, Neptune goes direct this month on Nov. 24. The planet of dreams, visions, fantasy, illusions, creativity and sensitivity starts moving forward, slowly. Maybe its time to dust off those dreams you’ve been harboring and get to it.
Astrology is a tool that can guide us by explaining the energies that we’re dealing with on a daily basis. When consciously working with the energy of the planets we can enjoy the easier days as well as prepare ourselves for the more challenging days. Our own chart is a snapshot of the Universe of when and where we were born, our own personal blueprint. It can help us discover our strengths and assist us in understanding more about ourselves and our loved ones. You can check out your chart at astrotheme.com.
The Moon takes about 28 days to complete her orbit through the twelve signs, approximately two and a half days in each sign. When we say the Moon is Void-of-Course, (VoC), it means the Moon makes no more major aspects to other planets until it leaves the sign it’s in. At these times, it can be difficult to get focused and accomplish tasks; you may want to relax, meditate or do something where your focus is directed inward. Don’t try to get a big project off the ground when the moon is void. If you want to find out more about the void of course moon, check out moontracks.com.

It feels like a big day with the Sun entering Sagittarius, not to mention our Full Moon later on tonight, so let’s get to it! Happy Birthday to all born in Sagittarius! And, a Happy Thanksgiving to my American Friends, enjoy that turkey and pumpkin pie! It may feel like a lot is happening but yet nothing is quite connecting. The Moon is void just about the entire day, so its the perfect time to watch the parade or a football game; as for the rest of us who are not enjoying a feast today, look after yourselves and be patient, the energy will get moving by later on tonight. We have our Full Moon in Gemini tonight at 11:38 p.m. Moon goes VoC at 3:59 a.m. until 10:10 p.m. when it enters Gemini.
