The benefits of humming are endless; it can improve your sleep, increase lymphatic circulation, create new neural pathways in the brain, increase melatonin, reduce stress, lower blood pressure levels, and increase the production of oxytocin. As if this wasn’t enough to convince you, the Goldman’s also explore the science of humming, and how it can help those with Alzheimer’s. They provide different levels of breathing and humming practices, and even provide audio examples online.

 

Peter, The Popes, and Mary: Whatever Happened to Jesus? by Paul I. Johnson, Ph.D. (Redemption Press, $13.99, Paperback)

Is Roman Catholicism really Christianity? Dr. Johnson begs the question. He explains how the Bible contradicts some key structures of the Christian religious system. He also explores how Catholic leaders have warped history over time.

 

Gratitude Works: Open Your Heart to Love by Katherine Scherer and Eileen Bodoh (K & E Innovations LLP, $11.97, Paperback)

To open this book is to open one’s heart to feeling more gratitude. Each page contains a gratitude intention full of light and love. The messages remind us of who we are, and help us to more fully experience the gifts in our lives.

Our bodies hold so much emotion, wisdom, and even trauma. Unfortunately, many of us have become disconnected from our bodies, and disabled from connecting with the helpful messages they are constantly sending to us. Scurlock-Durana helps readers to reconnect with their bodies, and explains each of the main “wisdom areas” of the body, including the heart, pelvis, bones, brain, and more. She reminds readers that our bodies are always on our side, forever sending us signals to pave the way for healthy, happy lives.
