“See
When you’re holding onto all that you can’t
Be
Know that all there is to gain lies
Within arm’s reach
For the flaw lies in your head not in your heart
See
How the darkest night will soon
Bring light again” *
For some, it was 2014; For others, it was 2015; For others still, it is 2016 that is presenting some significant challenges, whether it be family, career, relationships, health, finances…or possibly all of the above. There is a song that has been played quite often recently, sometimes heard randomly, and other times chosen purposefully. My attention was directed to it originally due to the beat of the music. The lyrics became more pronounced the more often it was heard. The music and beat still strike a chord, and now the message and its meaning are on full display, engaging and uplifting.
Many people are going through these changing times, and the path has been less than a smooth one. Your experience is not unlike hundreds or thousands of others reading this message. The specifics of the journey may differ, yet we are all facing challenges and decisions that will lead us towards tomorrow, either down the same path we had planned or in some new direction.
You always have choices, even if other options do not seem clear. Once you invest the time in finding them you will be faced with a decision. The choice you ultimately make leads to an outcome, different from any of the other choices. Change for change’s sake does not always lead to fulfillment, so be careful not to confuse movement with improvement. Fulfillment should be the goal when facing these decisions. If there is something you are ready to change, today is the day to change it and when you do:
Take the time to evaluate all your options, which helps you make better decisions.
Rely on friends who can be objective, if you choose to involve others in the process.
Trust your inner voice and intuition, as there are things going on and events taking place which your mind has no knowledge.
Choose to look forward to tomorrow, and…
“See
When you’re holding on to all but
You can’t breathe
Know the dawn lies in your hands
Just let your heart speak
And the darkest light will soon
Burn bright again” *
