Letter From The Publisher – November 2016

Fall is right around the corner, and I am preparing the November issue, which is very special for me, because it makes me stop and reflect on, and celebrate my life. The first event that helps me reflect on my life is on November 1st, when I celebrate Wszystkich Swietych (All Saints Day). It is a Polish holiday, when everyone goes to the cemetery and lights candles to remember families and friends who passed away.

This holiday makes me reflect on life, and ask myself, “am I at this moment in a place where I want to be? Am I happy? Why am I doing what I do?” Answers to those questions have helped me trust that I am on my spiritual road.

Also, the All Saints celebration reminds me that all of the people who passed away are happy on the other side, and cheering for us to live inspired and joy-filled lives.

The second holiday that I celebrate in November is Thanksgiving. I have only been celebrating this for 14 years, and it gives me so much to be thankful for.

I am grateful that I am here, and I am publishing and leading the Conscious Community Magazine, with many awesome and talented people. I am grateful for the world, and all the changes and challenges that are coming for us with the upcoming election on November 8th. Even though Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump represent two totally different ways of running the country, I hope, and believe that we are ready for it. From a spiritual perspective, challenges bring new opportunities for us to grow as people, a community, and country.

Also, there are many articles and columns in this issue that will inspire you to ask your soul some questions: “Where would you have me go?  What would you have me say?  What would you have me do?” For more about those questions, and meeting Eckhart Tolle for the first time, read Theresa Puskar’s All About Town column; “Living a Life of Presence.”

Do you know the feeling when you do something that really brings you real happiness, that no money can buy? Alan Cohen writes about this joy, and blessings that made Meryl Streep leave her first Oscar award in the ladies’ room at the Academy Awards.

I invite you to read the whole issue, and check out our website; I know that everyone can find something inspiring to read.  Enjoy!

P.S. Don’t forget to vote on November 8th!

The Best,
Kasia Szumal
